Bookshelves for book lovers
If you’re a book lover like I am, you know your shelves are more than just storage—they're a reflection of your personality. In a well-loved room bookshelves become the heart of the home, layered with meaning and memories. Whether you're collecting first editions, art books, self help or beach reads with worn spines, there’s something deeply comforting about living among your books.

Or, if you’re feeling confident but would just like to make curating your shelves more of a one stop shop, take a look at my styling kits!
In this family room, the shelves are curated like a gallery wall—using art, objects and lots of books to create the composition. There’s rhythm and restraint in the layout, but also warmth and whimsy. Books are lined across the top, while lower shelves mix sculptural objects, framed sketches, and petite floral moments to create visual interest between the stacks. The lowest level holds beautiful baskets and boxes to hide things like extra blankets, files, photos and games.
This approach is intentional with books stacked both vertically and horizontally, vintage finds and art history books, mixed in with sentimental art pieces. I even left space to feature my favorite coffee table books cover-forward using this Vitsoe shelving system —a simple trick that makes your collection feel boutique.
